On My Isle (DE)
On My Isle is the brainchild of Braunschweig based Hendrik Beye. Inspired by Finnish band HIM originally, Hendrik spent many years playing in rock bands supporting many well established German bands and also NEGATIVE when they visited. Choosing to strip back his sound, On My Isle is still a relatively new project with only an EP released thus far. Playing with Wolfgang Herbst on piano, On My Isle combines energy and sadness, creating an emotional and powerful live show.
Rebecca Clamp (UK)
Rebecca Clamp is a singer songwriter pianist originally from Cambridge, England but now living in Finland. Noted for her passionate voice and idiosyncratic piano playing, she has a style which is entirely her own. Rebecca’s quirky lyrics examine the everyday from unusual perspectives: she draws you into a world where mobile phones run away to join nunneries and bearded female saints appear at five in the morning to give you advice on your love life. Her lyrical world is rich with the minutiae of life; insects, origami boats, smiles, and cigarette smoke in beams of light all flicker through her songs.
Since 2013, Clamp has been performing with Hans Wessels (Vallilan Tango, Towers of Romance) and they will be releasing a new album this spring. Wessels brings ukulele, vocal harmonies, and some dark electronic arrangements to the songs.
Dr. Dan & The Silent Invention (UK)
Daniel Beech has been making music in various forms since a young age and having spent time in many rock bands is probably best known at the moment for fronting Helsinki based covers band The Clean Rebels. Having taken a two year break from his solo project since playing Kallio Block Party in 2015, these shows will debut new material and finally the release of some music (hopefully). Along with guitarist and backing vocalist Tommi Andersson, lyrics are key to this stripped down duo show where you will hear tales of divorce, political ruin, suicide and many other happy topics!
